Victoria Beckham, better known as Posh Spice, began her solo career in 2000 after the power girl band the Spice Girls silently drifted apart. Posh Spice was the last member of the Spice Girls to pursue a solo career, recording and releasing the single “Out of Your Mind” in August 2000, in collaboration with Dane Bowers and Truesteppers. The single debuted in the number two spot in the UK Singles Chart. Beckham had debuted “Out of Your Mind” publicly at a charity event for the Prince’s Trust to an audience of one hundred thousand in Hyde Park on July 8, 2000.

Virgin Records signed Beckham for her next album entitled simply Victoria Beckham with the single “Not such an Innocent Girl,” which was released in September 2001 as Beckham’s first solo hit for the label. The single debuted at number six in the UK Singles Chart. Beckham’s debut album was released in October 2001 reaching the number ten spot in the UK album chart. The album sold around fifty thousand copies. The second single from this album was released in the February of 2002. “A Mind of its Own” sold fifty-six thousand copies and charted at the number six position. Those were the only two singles released from the Victoria Beckham album.

Beckham signed with Telstar records in 2003 and released a single “Let Your Head Go/This Groove” in December of that year. The single was heavily promoted on television and charted in the number three position during the Christmas holiday season.

Beckham decided not to pursue her career further when the label Telstar folded.
