In 1997, David Beckham, popular football player of all time, and Victoria Adams met up at a football match, organized by a charitable trust. Soon after, they started dating each other and without delay, they publicized the news of their engagement during 1998. Following this, the media named them “Posh and Becks”. On 4th July 1999, they tied the knot at Luttrellstown Castle in Ireland and as expected, the wedding attracted remarkable media coverage. Since the Beckhams already had an exclusive deal with “OK! Magazine”, they tried to keep the media away from the ceremony as much as they could. Gary Neville, the England football player, Club Captain of Manchester United and teammate of David Beckham, was elected as the best man. Brooklyn, the 4-month-old toddler of the Beckham's, was the ring holder. After the marriage, the couple published their photographs, which showed both of them sat on a golden throne. It was reported that the total amount, spent on the marriage ceremony, amounted to £500,000 and in order to take proper care of the guests, they employed almost 437 staff. After the couple married, they bought their new residence in 1999, which was located in 24 acres of land. This became their most famous home and it cost them £2.5 million, another 3 million being spent on renovating the entire house. Just as the media had dubbed them with a name, “Posh and Becks”, when they got engaged, similarly their house, was named “Beckingham Palace”.
