Victoria Beckham was born to a set of wealthy business owners named Anthony and Jacqueline Adams on April 17th 1974. She was born Victoria Caroline Adams and following her birth came a younger brother called Christian and a younger sister called Louise. Her father was a member of the sixties rock group called ‘The Sonics’. The Adams’ owned a successful electrical business, and this led to their children living a very privileged childhood. Beckham attended St. Mary’s high school and was inspired to be famous and in ‘the spotlight’ because of the musical ‘Fame’. Beckham is said to have been very self-conscious, suffering low self-esteem, during her years at St. Mary’s. In 1980, to help their daughter follow her dream, Victoria’s parents enrolled her at Jason Theatre School. When she turned seventeen she enrolled at Laine Theatre Arts College where she studied modeling and dance. After three unhappy years Beckham left Laine Theatre Arts College. A few years later in 1993 Beckham was singing in a group called ‘Persuasion’, but couldn’t really compete with the voices of the others in the group. Victoria spotted an ad in the paper looking for a talented female singer and dancer. She landed an audition in front of Bob Herbert and was one of the finalists whittled down from a list of hundreds. Bob Herbert was putting together an all-girl pop group later named The Spice Girls. Beckham joined the group, toured the world, and received the nickname of Posh Spice.
