Victoria Beckham is best known as a former member of The Spice Girls girl group, being married to soccer star David Beckham and as celebrity mother to her three young sons. However there is more to Victoria Beckham than this. In 2001 Victoria released her first book, titled ‘Learning to Fly’. The autobiography was a huge success, ranking third of the best selling non-fiction books of the year and hitting the number one spot in the book charts when it was first released.

Victoria said she got the title of her best-selling autobiography from the song ‘I’m gonna live forever, I’m gonna learn how to fly’ in the musical Fame. The song was a favorite of Beckham’s when she was a young girl. In order to help book promotions Victoria appeared on the television show ‘Parkinson’, which was viewed by nearly nine million viewers.

Victoria’s second book was released on October 30th 2006. The book, co-authored by Hadley Freeman and featuring photography by Mario Testino, Annie Leibovitz and Steven Meisel, was titled ‘The Extra Half an Inch: Hair, Heels, and Everything in Between’. This book also proved a great success and reached number two on the Sunday Times Book Charts.

Victoria Beckham is more than a pop superstar and celebrity soccer star’s wife, as proved by her chart topping books. Victoria Beckham shows an array of talents and the show is not over yet as she prepares to tour with reunited girl band The Spice Girls.
