Victoria Beckham is one of the most famous women in the world, and is scrutinized so closely that those reading about her decide whether they do or do not like her, without even meeting her. Although she exploded into the public eye in the most successful girl band of the nineties – the Spice Girls – she is better known for being one half of the couple ‘Posh and Becks’. She was born Victoria Adams on April 17th 1974 in Hertfordshire in England. She joined the Spice Girls in 1994, and, since they exploded on the pop music scene in 1996, she’s been a household name. She married the LA Galaxy football star David Beckham in July 1999, and they now have three sons; Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz. We may know these facts about her, but do we really know Victoria Beckham as well as we think we do? Although each one of us probably has our own opinion about her, we only know the Victoria Beckham that is presented to us by the media. And is that the real her? Do we see the woman who spends time at home with her family? Or the woman who juggles her career alongside motherhood? When we look at her and judge her, do we sometimes forget that she’s a human being like each one of us? It is the job of the media to portray those who are considered celebrities in a certain light, but do we need to see them as those one-dimensional characters? Or can we accept that there is quite possibly more to them than meets the eye?
